Seventh Reunion
Wednesday June 16th through 18th, 2011
Washington, DC

Wednesday June 16th through 18th, 2011

Once again, VO-67 will gather to celebrate former times and renew old friendships. It is our seventh reunion! This year the host hotel is the Crowne Plaza Washington National Airport which is an outstanding hotel with modern offerings and close proximity to the Washington Metro (subway). As always all military associates involved with the " Igloo White Project ", Jolly Greens, Nails, Hobos, Zorros, Nimrods, NKP personnel, Batcats, VAH-21 Project Trim, etc. are invited to attend our reunion and take part in our special events.

Were sure you have already made your hotel reservations. If not, just look at the calendar, time is flying! The deadline to get your hotel room at the VO-67 price is Monday, May 16, 2011. Hotel contact information is listed below. NOTE: If you are concerned about paying this far out, just remember that the hotel does not charge your credit card for your room until you check into the hotel. The hotel just uses your card to "hold" your reservation. Therefore, you can book your room NOW and not worry about being charged until June. Make sure to ask the hotel what their cancellation deadline is so you do not get charged if you are forced to cancel or for any reason fail to show up.

Washington, D.C. has a lot to offer, from monuments and history, to the Smithsonian Museums, and more. Again, this year your reunion committee has put a tremendous amount of time into lining up the best possible reunion. As you review what is offered, I believe you will agree that this time and effort has really paid off.

Below are the highlights and reunion schedule which is all INCLUDED with your registration fee (unless otherwise noted). The costs to put on a reunion have risen; however, the committee has taken several steps and many considerations to keep the price very reasonable for what you will receive.

Thursday, June 16, 2011, 12 noon; The VO-67 hospitality room officially opens at the Crowne Plaza Washington National Airport Hotel. Then, in the evening, there will be a delicious ice cream social at the hotel.

Friday, June 17, 2011, 9:00 a.m. sharp; a bus will pick us up at the Crowne Plaza and take us to the Vietnam Memorial Wall where we will perform a wreath-laying ceremony. Sufficient time will be available to visit The Wall and to wander around the nearby Korean War Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and others in the immediate vicinity. At 11:45 a.m. we board the bus and are taken to a delicious buffet lunch at Phillips Seafood Restaurant overlooking the waterfront! At 1:00 p.m. we visit the U.S. Naval Memorial and Naval Heritage Center where we will honor the VO-67 plaque, watch the Navy History movie "At Sea",then have time to browse the museum. At 3:30 p.m. we board the bus for the return to the hotel.

Saturday morning the VO-67 Association business meeting will be held, with coffee and rolls available, as we discuss Association business and hold elections of officers for the next two years. That evening, at the dinner banquet, winners of the Association scholarships for 2010-11 will be announced. We will once again pay our respects for lost shipmates with the tolling of the bell ceremony. A very limited supply of squadron memorabilia such as hats, shirts, pins, and patches will be available for purchase. Our own Jack Valenty has again agreed to preside as MC over a great fun-filled evening of brotherhood and remembrance. Please fully review all the material and join your shipmates in Washington, D.C. for a great time. In our opinion this is the first and last time the shipmates of VO-67 will gather at the Vietnam Wall so do your best to get there. Please return your registration materials ASAP. All required forms are available for download at the bottom of this page however you will soon receive complete information in the mail.
