Moffett Field Museum launches the VO-67 memorial exhibit

On Saturday March 7, 2026, 13 members of the VO-67 Association attended the unveiling of an exhibit that tells the story of this very unique squadron. The team at the museum, led by museum CEO Jeff Wasel, did a fantastic job by painting the nose of a P-2 with the exact jungle green color that we had on our planes.

They also placed our logo on the sides and mounted the Norden Bombsight that we provided from our archives. The storyboards were beautifully done so that anyone wanting to learn about the squadron would have plenty of information to learn.

The team took our members on a full tour of the museum then we went specifically to the VO-67 exhibit where we all marveled at how nice and beautiful it is. Afterwards they closed the museum to the public and hosted us in the library where we told our stories, answered their many questions. We also made sure to praise the efforts of the museum team to make this long-time vision a reality.

We were all then taken by shuttle to visit a static display of an old P-2 that we viewed and used as a backdrop for group photos. We made sure that all museum members knew how grateful we are. The legacy of our squadron is preserved, and the story will stay front and center for others to see.

As a surprise to museum staff we presented them with additional items from our archives that Bob Reynolds flew in with that will undoubtedly enhance the exhibit even more by having items actually worn in combat by some of our members. They were very grateful!

Below you will see a few photos of the day with more to follow soon. I might note also that during our talk; we repeated the names of our KIA and held a solemn moment of silence. Let us never forget!
